Peter Morichovitis is a Procurement and Supply Chain leader with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors including government, utilities, resources, manufacturing and construction. Peter currently consults in this space as a Principal Procurement Consultant. Before consulting, Peter was at the City of Gold Coast for 10 years, holding the roles of Chief Procurement Officer and Chief Information Officer. Prior to that, Peter held various Procurement leadership roles in BHP.

Peter’s procurement expertise has been externally acknowledged on a number of occasions. Namely, he has been crowned Australasian Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional of the Year by CIPS and led the City of Gold Coast to win Best Global Procurement Transformation at the Procurement Leaders Global Awards. In 2024, Peter won Procurement Consultancy Project of the Year at the CIPS Australasian Excellence in Procurement and Supply Awards.

Peter is a passionate advocate for the procurement profession. He has been active on CIPS Committees since 2009 and has Chaired CIPS in Queensland and South Australia/Northern Territory for a combined period of seven years. Peter sees procurement as one of the greatest drivers for advancing an organisation’s goals and profitability. Just as importantly, he sees procurement as one of the greatest enablers for social outcomes – through ethics, anti-corruption, anti-modern-day slavery, ESG, CSR and social procurement, for example; and for pure economic development.
