The Strategic Risk Case Competition offers a practical, high-impact risk consulting experience, your chance to compete against university students from across the Asia–Pacific region and gain feedback from expert judges, including Fellows of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM).

Working in teams, you’ll tackle a real-world business risk scenario modelled on challenges faced by today’s organisations. Within a limited timeframe, you’ll assess key risks, design practical mitigation strategies, and deliver actionable recommendations, mirroring the dynamic environment of professional risk consulting.

The competition culminates in a boardroom-style presentation to a panel of leading risk professionals, followed by an interactive Q&A session that offers exclusive insights into strategic risk thinking, resilience, and leadership under pressure.

This is your opportunity to build hands-on consulting experience, showcase your strategic and analytical skills, and connect directly with risk leaders shaping the future of the profession.

Why participate?

  • Gain real consulting experience – work on genuine risk challenges faced by organisations and understand how emerging risks are managed in practice.
  • Bridge theory and practice – apply what you’ve learned in class to real scenarios while developing critical, transferable skills that set you apart from other graduates.
  • Build resilience and teamwork – learn to perform under pressure, conduct rigorous analysis, and present clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Access to mentorship – members of the winning team will receive personalised mentoring from leading risk professionals and Fellows of the Institute.
  • Earn recognition – all participants will receive an official Certificate of Participation and digital badge to add to your professional portfolio.
  • Win great prizes – cash prizes are awarded to the top three finalist teams.
